Margaret Wheatley: 10 Keys to Healthy Community Change

UPDATE: The videos don't play in sequence anymore... Elaine says this link will at least allow you to view them in sequence at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=57D3F5FDE5856188

A series of 10 short, connected videos created from a presentation on healthy community change, by Margaret Wheatley.

The videos originally played in sequence via a play list linked from You Tube. You may also view any one of them individually at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=57D3F5FDE5856188.

There are some wonderful points made in this brief set of videos, such as: "To improve the health and vitality of any organism or community, increase the number of connections" and "Everything is a failure in the middle. When things seem to be falling apart is when we have the most opportunity for coming together and making a change" and "We focus on what works and it releases our creativity. When we focus on what's wrong, people become discouraged or depressed and they disengage". It ends with a note on generosity and belonging and the idea of being able to say, in the end, "We were together. I forget the rest".

Thank you for posting this wonderful series. I just finished Magaret's "Turning to One Another", and given the opportunity to see and hear her ideas in the series was a beautiful experience. For me I really enjoyed her prinicpal #8, "Everything is a failure in the middle". These are teh best of times to learn, to reorganize so that when the learning circle moves on we are better for the work. Thanks again for the post.

You're welcome.

Meg's video was so insightful, I've passed the link on to friends - who are passing it on to friends...

Thanks for your comment, Elaine. I found the video to be encouraging and helpful. In viewing it again recently, I was touched by the end message of being able to say: "We were together. I forget the rest"

Thank you and Eric for being among the early sign-ups to our community site.

Randy - thanks for putting this into a single viewing and posting this. I really appreciated what she had to say.

It was a way of making the obvious, obvious by speaking it out. How often I miss things because I am focused on the wrong thing.

Regarding the "falling apart" - I too have come to view this time as "we must be really close to succeeding" - and that is why things are falling apart. :) The more chaotic, the more I want to persever through to get to the other side.
