Ralf - regarding the English to German issue - I think both Art of Hosting and Open Space offer sites in German and other languages.
I know both listservs for these 2 have people from all over the world participating in the conversation - and in many different languages.
While did I connect with you? Well, 2 reasons - I volunteer with A Small Group (ASG) to help manage the ning site and I love connecting with others to learn more about what they are doing in building community and what brought them to our site...oh, that's 3 reasons. :)

Hi Elaine,
Thanks for mentionin Art of Hosting. I know of it roughly but haven't dived deeper. Problem over here in Eastern Germany still is the lack of English in common daily life business context. Berlin is different ;-)
Project LockSchuppen has just started and slowly is taking off into moving :-) Yesterday we had our first session with three people, all bound to one USB-WLAN stick, three Macs interconnect - great learning!
Indeed! We currently do not have a website....that is on the agenda for this year. Will definately post progress along the way. I just realized I may have posted the last post several times (ooops).
Hi Elaine...thank you for the warm welcome! C11 came about somewhat by happenstance, somewhat by design and mostly through the desires of a group of committed individuals wanting to make a difference. The genesis was a cold January gathering to talk about learning with and from each other. As we each told of what we were looking for in a group, learning was a definite theme, but what was emerging more strongly was each person's desire to do something more, to give back somehow. That set us on fabulous adventure. Over the next 11 months we determined our values, our big dreams and what exactly we would offer people. In Dec. 08 we put out our first offering to 11 (hmmm, coincidence really) for-service organizations - collectively we are offering approx. 350 hours of our time to assist organizations in the area of leadership, coaching, HR etc. We work together on design to leverage the collective knowledge, expertise and energy. We are currently working with two organizations. It's been fabulous!
Thanks for the welcome, Elaine! Randy is one of my favorite people now in incarnation. He is so positive and enthusiastic about this group - I had to join! I look forward to meeting you and many other like-minded souls!
Namaste,
Ray
It was good to see you Monday evening and the conversation with John Schuster. I bought his book.
It is always so find to discover how people are connected to other people - you and John Schuster. It is that whole 6 degrees of separation - we are closer to each other than we think. :)
If I can get my work done - I will be at the ASG Holiday Party today. Hope to see you there.
Hello Elaine! I miss you and Eric and the work....been busy teaching 5th graders, and traveling back and forth to DC.
I'll be at John Schuster's lecture tonight...will you be there?
If I don't catch you there, I will try to make this Friday's gathering....

Hi Elaine! I intend to get back more often. I've missed you, too, as well as the work. I did see you across the room 8/1 but had to dash for another meeting. I hope you are well and look forward to catching up sometime soon.
Hi Elaine! It's great to hear from you. I'm currently on my summer break, doing an internship at the UN in New York. I'm working in the Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Issues, working on a report on women, peace and security (including women's role in peace-building and peacekeeping, gender-sensitive reconstruction, and sexual violence in wartime). It's been an exciting summer, but it ends in two weeks and I'm looking forward to spending the month of August in Kentucky. I hope to see you at ASG gatherings during that time. I hope you are very well and look forward to seeing you!

Unfortunately, my schedule at the hospital almost always prevents my making our First Friday meetings. Hope to do more with ASG soon!
