Hi, Steve. Thanks. In thinking about the quote, it fits in pretty well with what I think we are trying to do with A Small Group. I think we are asking people to long for community, and we are practicing those structures that can help bring communit…

Montgomery
Although A Small Group is currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio, we have friends and fellow community members in Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and many other places. Regardless of your location, we invite you to join us. Please tell us a little about your community (or country, for that matter!).
I live in Montgomery, to some the epitome of suburbia. While I will not debate that point, I will say that Montgomery is to be commended for undertaking a conscious and deliberate attempt to invite mere residents to become engaged citizens. I believe that engagement is the stuff of healthy community and that healthy community is in turn essential to who we are as human beings. So, my hat is off to Montgomery and I am glad to be helping.
What is your work? -- NOTE: all of these Q's may be updated any time and may be as brief or as long as you wish.
My formal work is in transition as my company and I have parted ways. MY wife and I are in the process of discovering our next adventure God has in store for us. In larger sense perhaps, my work could be captured in a mission statement I wrote a few years ago to be:
A more effective vessel for God
A more compassionate supporter for his wife
A more patient mentor for his kids
A more productive member of his community
A wiser, stronger leader.
What originally brought you to A Small Group? What brought you to this ASG site?
I resonate strongly with the fundamental principles on which ASG stands. I want to learn more and to become more effective.
With what organizations or groups do you work today?
College Pres. Church,
Do you have a suggestion for a great question of your own?
What would you like to be etched on your tombstone? (Your legacy.)

Teach them to long.....

Hi, All. It was great to be with everyone yesterday.

Someone asked me for this quotation.

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.
