A friend's writing (and reading) featured on NPR today

I'm just posting this to share a friend's wonderful Veteran's Day reading, featured this morning on NPR.

Forrest (Woody) Brandt, now a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves and an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University, wrote about the day he came home from Vietnam in 1969. Jane and I have come to know Woody through our participation in writing classes at Women Writing for a Change.

What originally brought you to A Small Group? What brought you to this ASG site?

A SMALL GROUP: I first got involved with ASG in 2003 after inviting Peter to speak at New Thought Unity Center, which become the start of several Civic Engagement series held at NTUC. I found in ASG the beginnings of a community of practice (of the 6 conversations, among other things) and of action. It's been a place of growing friendship and a sense of belonging and welcome that is a valuable part of my life. THIS SITE: I set-up this ning site with Collete Thompson as a place to which we might migrate our current asmallgroup.net website and also convene a more interactive and inviting space for all.
