Although A Small Group is currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio, we have friends and fellow community members in Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and many other places. Regardless of your location, we invite you to join us. Please tell us a little about your community (or country, for that matter!).
I weave Good Neighbors together all around the world so they can create their own Family Support Networks. They pool their resources and post activities and publish Resource Directories using a free web-based technology we developed at www.familynetwork.org. We proposed Community Weaving America to the Obama Administration and the State of Illinois is spearheading a pilot to launch CWA nationwide.
What is your work? -- NOTE: all of these Q's may be updated any time and may be as brief or as long as you wish.

What originally brought you to A Small Group? What brought you to this ASG site?
Dan Joyner invited me.
With what organizations or groups do you work today?
I'm the founder of the Family Support Network, Int'l and pioneer of Community Weaving.
ASG Questions: Select one to answer below, if you like (or pass - that's always ok):
What is the gift you've come here to give?
Your current answer to the selected question (you may update this and other profile items any time):
Community Weaving this community by inviting all to sign up for free as Good Neighbors and check out the user-friendly technology we developed to foster a stronger sense of community and a more responsive citizenry.
Do you have a suggestion for a great question of your own?
How can we do a better job of collaborating on projects?
Anything else you'd like to share about yourself?
Peter Block called me on Skype 2 months ago and waited for me to answer for 7 minutes. I had misplaced my headset and tried every which way to let him know I was very happy to hear from him. I had a project I wanted to talk to him about...but we've never been in contact since. Now that Community Weaving is being piloted in the State of Illinois as a demonstration project for a nationwide initiative, I am realizing how challenging it is to respond to people. So I now know that the universe has a time that we are to connect...and I'll just wait till I hear from him. (206) 240-2241. I relocated to the East coast from Seattle to serve in the new administration.
LAST QUESTION -- First, a closing note: Thank you for your interest in A SMALL GROUP. Membership is free and open. We do, however, review each new member to be sure that the site is not being abused by spam posters. The more complete your profile, the easier it will be to verify. Your membership will be activated as soon as a moderator can review it. THANKS AGAIN! ------ On to the final item: WHAT IS YOUR WEBSITE ADDRESS?

Cheryl,

I am so glad you're here. Thanks for signing in.

I got a link to your site and your work from Peter and from Maggie in November or so and was inspired by what I learned there.

Community Weaving is something in which I am most interested. My own business is changing and growing in the direction of community work. We have been building the framework for a deep directory of information about Cincinnati and its neighborhoods, including local businesses, organizations and the rich stories across the communities.

I could tell from the stories I saw on the CW web pages that the programs and training you've created would be helpful to us in our connection with our own communities here.

We've begun 2009 with a move of our office to a new location and are settling in this month. I look forward to taking time to learn more and perhaps be part of a training in the not to distant future.

Thanks again for your presence. I'm glad Dan invited you!
