Although A Small Group is currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio, we have friends and fellow community members in Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and many other places. Regardless of your location, we invite you to join us. Please tell us a little about your community (or country, for that matter!).

Sarasota is a vibrant community with a strong creative identity, a large seasonal population, beautiful beaches and plenty of opportunities for bridging groups of people of different cultures, income levels, and age.

What is your work? -- NOTE: all of these Q's may be updated any time and may be as brief or as long as you wish.

SCOPE is a nonprofit that connects and inspires citizens to create a better community. We use an Asset-Based approach and incorporate Peter Block's work into everything we do. We act as a catalyst to focus community energy and resources on key issues and to create lasting positive lasting change. I work in neighborhoods primarily, supporting resident-driven initiatives and helping people active in neighborhoods connect with each other and with tools they can use to bring the community together around a shared vision.

What originally brought you to A Small Group? What brought you to this ASG site?

I have participated in phone calls with members of A Small Group to explore how our work overlaps.

With what organizations or groups do you work today?

Sarasota County and City governments, neighborhood associations, the Community Health Improvement Partnership of Sarasota County, the Coalition for Inclusion and Diversity, the ABCD Institute of NorthWestern University, Grassroots Grantmakers, the Deliberative Democracy Consortium, and others

What is the crossroads at which you find yourself?

Nurturing the growth of citizenship in neighborhoods versus developing spaces and projects to use art for community building (and doing more of my own creative work).
