Restoration and Reconcilation in Cincinnati, Ohio

This is a fully saturated image that was taken very early in the morning on October 30, 2008. I had a meeting later that morning with Harry Fry and Isabelle Healy. Harry told the story about how earlier in the morning his wife had awakened him telling him to look at the unusual fog pattern over the Ohio River. Harry lives on the river’s edge where he enjoys the unbelievable river scenery every day. Harry described the fog, on this particular morning, as “towering columns of fog leaping above the river” The fog snaked perfectly along the river valley as if it were an extension of the water. This image was shot from a cliff, 400 feet above Harry’s vantage point. In the image, you can see the tops of the fog columns that Harry described, the surrounding hilltops in Ohio and Kentucky, the intense sunrise, high level clouds, airplane vapor trails crossing the sky and an unbelievably clear morning sky. The color in this image is phenomenal. It’s ironic that this image was taken at possibly the same time as Harry marveled at its beauty from the water's edge… Enjoy!
